WASH Library

Updated - Thursday 31 March 2011

IRC’s WASH Library acts as WASH Sector memory documenting 40 years of sector progress, analysis and tools. IRC's "classic" library has been transformed into a digital library, providing direct access to a still increasing number of WASH sector documents. The collection is built around current themes of interest for the WASH sector and contains a large collection of ‘grey’ literature.

Added value

The WASH library adds value to the WASH sector:

  • It is a unique repository of key publications in the WASH sector
  • It has 15,000 full text documents ready to use
  • It increases opportunities to link up with other WASH organisations
  • It improves accessibility by appearing in Google search results
  • It increases added value of IRC’s information and knowledge sharing services as the digital library is the base for many of these services, such as the question and answer service, IRC web site, InterWATER organisations, Source news publications, reference lists.
